Best for: Three-year TCO comparisons, justifying switching costs, internal investment reviews, showing the total gap between two options whose cost structures differ (status quo vs adopting)
Use: When cost is a sum of line items rather than a single number. Fits TCO comparisons where the status quo and the proposal have different cost structures, so the deck must show what disappears and what newly appears.
Avoid: Use comparison-stat-face-off for a single metric, comparison-feature-matrix for feature presence, comparison-decision-matrix for weighted vendor scoring. Use pricing-roi-snapshot if return multiples are the subject, or the pricing category if you are selling the plan itself.
